Audio-Technica‘s celebrating its 60th anniversary and we’re rooting for them with the ATH-WB2022 wooden wireless headphones. It truly is a groundbreaking pair of luxury headphones. The ATH-WB2022 is the brand’s first pair of wireless headphones to feature a wooden housing and truly independent channels.

This year, Audio-Technica graced us with the AT-MC2022 cartridge and the AT-LP3XBT automatic and AT-LPW50BTRW manual turntables. So, it’s been a consistent year of value for the brand. So what should you expect from this solid release?

The Audio-Technica ATH-WB2022 Wireless Headphones

Audio-Technica carefully crafted the ATH-WB2022’s earcups from a selection of intertwined marbled maple, walnut, and mahogany wood. According to the brand, the combination of different woods has excellent acoustic properties, absorbing vibrations for purer audio performance.

Additionally, Alcantara is also used to provide a premium tactile experience while offering a sustainable alternative to traditional materials.

The Audio-Technica ATH-WB2022 wireless headphones sport a newly designed 45mm HD driver featuring a DLC (diamond-like carbon) coated diaphragm. According to Audio-Technica, the drivers reproduce vivid and expressive sounds, for a rich, detailed listening experience.

Furthermore, the ATH-WB2022 supports LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs and 24-bit/96 kHz wired and wired playback. It introduces an independent left-right balance, with a pair of ESS ES9038Q2M DACs alongside separate batteries and Nisshinbo Micro Devices’ flagship MUSES05 op amps for each channel. It’s the world’s first fully balanced audio output system.

You can expect up to 9 hours of hi-fi audio from a single charge, but it also comes with a USB cable you can plug into your device of choice.

Not only that, but it comes with a 10 mm diameter condenser microphone that ensures crystal-clear audio for calls. The earcups have in-built buttons that provide easy control of music playback, volume, microphone muting, and voice assistant functions.
