Cyrus Audio Announced The Revamped Classic Series

The real question is, what are the Cyrus Audio updates? Well you can look forward to: AMP and PRE updates, BluOS streamer and more. The Classic components retained the looks of their predecessors, but the inside underwent a revision. You can expect a redesigned circuit board and upgraded components.

Let’s get into the details.

The Cyrus Classic PRE

Classic PRE still comes with a wide range of inputs, including a moving magnet phono stage, four line-level RCA inputs, a pair each of Optical and COAX digital inputs, a 3.5mm headphone port, alongside balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs. The PRE’s 74VA toroidal power transformer has eleven independent power supply regulators that regulate and then sub-regulate quiet power in the circuit design.

The Cyrus Classic AMP

The Cyrus Classic AMP

The Classic AMP matches the PRE’s ins and outs; however, instead of the XLR outputs, you get two sets of speaker terminals used to deliver 91W per channel into 6Ω. Furthermore, the power supply features a 304VA toroidal power transformer delivering power to a high-capacity power supply reserve. The preamplifier power supply is also electrically separated from the power amplifier section.

Lastly, the digital control circuits in both the Classic PRE and AMP are assigned a separate power supply, keeping it fully isolated from the signal circuitry.

Prices Of The Cyrus Classic PRE & AMP

  1. The Upgraded Cyrus Classic PRE (£2,595)
  2. The Upgraded Cyrus Classic AMP (£1,995)

Both are available to order from August, with more models in the range, including a streamer using the BluOS platform which will be available in 2024.
