Cayin Launched The HA-300MK2 Amplifier
German audio company Cayin launched the HA-300MK2 headphone amplifier.
Here’s what you need to know about the HA-300MK2.
It features three selectable impedance ranges:
- Low from 8 to 64 ohms
- Mid from 65 to 250 ohms
- High up to 600 ohms
According to Cayin, the HA-300MK2 performs for a wide variety of headphones with different impedances.
Tech Specs Of The HA-300MK2
A pair of 300B Direct Heated triodes and two 6SN7 driver tubes amplify the output side. Thanks to that, the amplifier can reliably output balanced (via XLR and 4.4mm connector) and unbalanced signals. The 4.4mm output is also lower in output power and noise.
The HA-300MK2 comes with its separate tuber-regulated power supply, which sits in a matching housing. In addition to a toroidal transformer, it contains four NOS RCA 22DE4 ( one of the best versions of 22DE4 available in the tube market) rectifier tubes that drive the amplifier cleanly and without interference. A silver-plated Teflon cable with copper connectors connects the PSU to the power supply.
The HA-300MK2 can drive speakers and carries speaker terminals on the back. You can activate that with a switch. Furthermore, the RCA and XLR inputs sit on the back of the device, and two VU meters round off the front.
Other features such as silver-plated inner wiring, short signal paths, a 41-step ALPS potentiometer, silicone gel dampers, and a start-up delay further enhance the HA-300MK2’s performance.
Price Of The Cayin HA-300MK2
The HA-300MK2 should retail at €5500. The black version is currently available, while a silver version will be available in August 2022.
